Steuben Rural Electric Cooperative knows that our members occasionally fall on hard times. If you are having a difficult time paying your bill because you recently lost your job or are dealing with unforeseen illness or another issue out of your control, please contact the office at 607-776-4161 or 1-800-843-3414.
If you think you may be late paying your electric bill please contact the cooperative immediately to find out if you can make a payment arrangement. We know that sometimes it's a struggle to pay your bill. So, we've also compiled a list of government and charitable organizations in our region that offer assistance with utility bills, if their conditions are met. We encourage members to contact them to determine resources that may be available. They are listed below:
Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)

HEAP is a federal grant program that helps eligible households pay for energy costs and weatherization. Income eligible members may receive one regular HEAP benefit per season. Contact your county's department of social services for more information.
